Walkable neighborhoods commuting distance to Sammamish - Chosen One - 07-27-2025 I just accepted a job in central Sammamish. I'm looking to live somewhere that walkable, transit access, bike facilities, all within a reasonable commute to Sammamish. I'm a single 40 year old gay guy. Enjoy the outdoors, being able to walk to a grocery store, coffee shop, etc. Don't care a ton about nightlife - can always uber to that. I'm guessing I'll only have to commute into the office 2 days a week. Rest will be remote. Not looking to spend more than $2700 a month on rent for a one bedroom apartment. Not looking for a commute that's more than 40 min each way with traffic. What areas should I consider? Some places that came to mind for me are downtown Mercer Island, Leschi, Jutkins Park. Anywhere else I'm missing? I wasn't sure if commuting via 520 should be avoided due to construction. That's why I've focused on I-90 corridor. Also, how is the safety level in Jutkins Park? I used to live in Atlanta and currently live in downtown Durham NC. I have street smarts and a tolerance for challenges that may exist in that neighborhood but wasn't sure how exactly bad it is. |
